The Mill House is a converted watermill. It's in Aston Crews, just outside Ross-on-Wye. The main house is ours, but you get the mill and its bit of garden to yourselves. It looks out over our duck pond and fields with sheep.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. We kept a lot of the original bits when we converted it, like the beams, stonework, and some of the millstones. The kitchen is new, though.
The stairs are a bit steep and narrow in places. It's an old building.
There's a pub and a shop about a mile away. Ross-on-Wye is five miles. That's got the main supermarkets and shops. The Forest of Dean is about the same distance. It's good for walking and mountain biking. Gloucester is twelve miles.
If you want to go further, places like Ledbury, Monmouth, Hereford, and Chepstow Castle are all within a thirty minute drive. There's fishing nearby, and a golf course.
For facilities, it's got everything on the list: parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, highchair and cot. You can bring one dog. Bedding is included.
