The Mill House

The Mill House is just up the drive from our place in Aston Crews. It's a converted watermill, detached, with its own garden and a patio area you can use.

Inside it sleeps eight. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The kitchen is good. You'll see the old beams and stonework around the place, and there's even a couple of the original millstones. The stairs are fine, typical for an old building.

From the windows you look out over our pond. There are ducks and geese on it, and sheep in the fields beyond. It's quiet.

There's a shop and a couple of pubs about a mile away in the village. They serve food. For a bigger shop, Ross-on-Wye is about five miles. Gloucester is twelve.

You're in a good spot for getting out. The Forest of Dean is five miles one way. Symonds Yat is close by for a walk and the views. Hereford, Ledbury, Monmouth, and the Malverns are all within a half hour drive or so. There's fishing locally, and golf. You can find pony trekking and mountain biking in the Forest.

For things to do further out, you've got Chepstow and its castle, or the cathedral in Hereford with the Mappa Mundi. The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley sites are useful for planning.

What's here: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wifi. Parking for a couple of cars. Bedding is included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
