Columbine Cottage
Columbine Cottage is in Ross on Wye, on a quiet street. It's semi-detached, and about a three minute walk into the town centre. That's why the address doesn't feel town centre. You're on a hill.
It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. One double room has a view over towards the river. The single bedroom looks out over the garden. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, but don't expect anything luxurious.
The garden's a bit different. It's walled on three sides. One part is a raised patio that's built into the old town wall, with some flower beds. It's sunny there in the afternoon.
There's a shop about 300 yards away and a pub even closer, maybe 200 yards. The pub does food.
Ross is a good spot for seeing the area. You've got the Wye Valley right here. The Forest of Dean isn't far. You can drive into the Cotswolds, or over to the Malvern Hills, in under half an hour. Closer by, people walk along the river, or go canoeing. There's also some fishing.
