Bellevue

Bellevue is in Harewood End, near Ross-on-Wye. It’s a large, detached country house from about two hundred years ago. It’s our family home, and we live next door, so we're on hand if you need anything.

The house sleeps 15 people. There are seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means it’s well-equipped and comfortable for a big group.

The main thing is the space. It's set in two acres. There’s a formal lawn, a walled kitchen garden if you want to pick some herbs, an arboretum with some nice trees, and rose beds. It's enclosed, so it's safe for children to run around.

Inside, it's an old house. Expect beams, uneven floors in places, and steep stairs. There's an open fireplace in the main living room and a couple of wood burners to keep it cosy. It’s been decorated to feel like a family home, not a show home.

A good pub that serves food is about a ten-minute walk down the lane. The nearest shop for basics is in Ross-on-Wye, about two miles away.

Ross-on-Wye has the usual supermarkets, some nice independent shops, and public gardens overlooking the river. Hereford is about a 25-minute drive. The cathedral is worth seeing, and there’s a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

You’re in a good spot for the Wye Valley. Symonds Yat is about 20 minutes away for walks or if you fancy canoeing on the river. The Wye Valley Walk runs through here. The National Trust's Lydstep Mansion and the famous Weir Garden are both nearby. Kilpeck Church, a very well-preserved Norman church, is a 15-minute drive.

For facilities, you've got everything you'd need for a big group: plenty of parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair.
