Glen Cottage is in Goodrich Cross on a working sheep farm. It's a 16th century listed cottage. It's on three floors and is one of a pair of properties on the farm, the other being a big barn conversion.
It sleeps six. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the bedrooms and a shower room are on the ground floor and have wheelchair access. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxury. There are a lot of exposed beams and stone walls. The stairs are the original cottage kind, so they're steep and winding. You need to mind your head in a couple of places.
The main rooms look out towards Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean. The views are good.
There's a utility room which is handy for storing muddy boots or fishing gear. The garden is enclosed. You can park on site.
A pub that does food is about half a mile away, so you can walk to it. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half.
You're right by the River Wye for fishing or canoeing. Goodrich Castle is very close. The Forest of Dean is a short drive for walking or cycling, and they've got the Go Ape there if that's your thing. Ross-on-Wye is five miles away for shops and cafes.
It's a good spot for seeing other parts of the country too. Hereford, Gloucester, the Malvern Hills, the Brecon Beacons and the Cotswolds are all within an hour or so by car.
In terms of what's here, the place has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
