Doward Farm

Doward Farm is a big old farmhouse near Whitchurch in Herefordshire. It's just off a private lane, so it's quiet. The place sleeps sixteen across seven bedrooms. There are four bathrooms. It's got a three star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean but not five-star luxury.

The farmhouse is detached. You're surrounded by our farmland, so the views are just fields and trees. There's a garden you can use and an orchard at the front.

Inside, it's a proper period property. The stairs are quite steep in places, which is normal for a place this old. The doorways aren't all level either. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance, but the ground floor isn't entirely flat, so it's worth checking the details if that's important for your group.

You're free to bring up to three dogs. There's a stairgate and a cot if you need them. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, a wood burner, and parking for a few cars on site. The wifi works, but it's the countryside, so it's not super fast.

Whitchurch village is about a mile away. It's got a good local shop and a cafe, an Indian restaurant, and a couple of pubs. For a bigger town, Monmouth is about six miles. They've got shops, a few golf courses, and an old independent cinema. The Wye Valley is right on the doorstep for walks. The Forest of Dean is close too, if you want to go cycling or exploring.
