Bramble Cottage

Bramble Cottage is in Newland, Gloucestershire. It's on our land, but it's your own space. The views from the back are over fields.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, keeps the rain out, and warms up nicely with the log burner if you light it.

You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed, but it's not Fort Knox so keep an eye on them. There's parking right there. It has all the things you'd expect: wifi, TV, washing machine, and a travel cot and highchair if you need them.

The village pub is about a mile away. It's a good one, it's won awards. The nearest shop is in Coleford, about two miles.

You're right in the middle of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Walking and cycling trails start practically from the door. For a proper adventure, Puzzlewood is about ten minutes away by car. It's an ancient forest, all mossy and twisted. They've filmed things like Dr Who there.

Chepstow Castle is about a 20 minute drive. It's a proper ruined castle on a cliff over the river. Goodrich Castle is in the other direction, about the same distance. Both are English Heritage. If you head into Hereford, the cathedral has the Mappa Mundi.

For more active days, you can go kayaking on the Wye or try the bike trails in the forest. Go Ape, with the zip wires, is also close.
