The Chicken Coop is here on our farm in Hewelsfield. It's one of three cottages we've done up, but you'd have your own space. It's all on one level, which makes it easy.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom which is a wet room. The rating is 5 Star, which means it's been finished well and is comfortable. Everything's new.
You come in through a little porch into the kitchen. It's a good size and has what you need. The living area is open plan with a wood burner. It's cosy in winter. Both bedrooms have TVs.
Outside, there's a big garden you share with the other cottage, The Old Granary. There's plenty of room. There's a door that connects the two places inside, which is handy if you're booking together.
It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and chickens around. Sometimes you hear the tractor. The village is quiet. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away in St Briavels, and the closest pub is two miles.
For walks, you're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. You can be in the woods in minutes. The Wye Valley is on the doorstep too. Chepstow Castle is about a fifteen minute drive, and it's a Cadw site. Tintern Abbey is in that direction as well. Monmouth and Abergavenny are both within half an hour if you want a market town.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The wet room and no steps at the entrance mean it's suitable for wheelchair users.
No pets, I'm afraid, because of the farm animals.
