Right, Red Lodge. It's a lodge in our garden, down in Monmouthshire. Detached, so it's just you out there. It's open plan, so it's all one room really, with a bed at one end. It's for two people.
It's got a four star rating. It's clean and comfortable, everything works. There's a shower, telly, parking outside the door. The bedding and towels are included.
You get a patio with a BBQ. The garden it's in is quite big and mature. There's a summerhouse out there too, which is a nice spot to sit in the evening.
We allow up to two dogs. It's bookable with the other cottage here if you're coming as a bigger group.
It's quiet here. The nearest shop or pub is about six miles away in Monmouth. Monmouth's a proper market town with a castle and some cafes. Good for a wander.
The Wye Valley is on the doorstep for walking. You can walk from here down through the woods to the river. Symonds Yat is famous for the views and the peregrine falcons.
Within about half an hour you've got Tintern Abbey, which is a ruin in a valley, very dramatic. Goodrich Castle is similar. The Forest of Dean is over there, with places like Puzzlewood, which is an unusual ancient woodland. Clearwell Caves are old mining caves.
