The Old Laundry is on our working farm in Hewelsfield. It's part of a row of three cottages, but it has its own entrance and a private enclosed garden at the back. You're surrounded by fields here. You'll see sheep, sometimes the farm dogs, and hear the birds.
It sleeps four. There are two good sized double bedrooms upstairs. One of them can be set up as a twin if you'd prefer. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower. Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining area, and a living space with a wood burner. It gets the sun in the afternoon. The patio doors lead straight out to the garden.
The cottage has a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. You've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
It's a quiet spot. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away in Alvington. The nearest pub is two miles, in St Briavels. They do food.
You're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Good walking and cycling from the door. The River Wye is about a ten minute drive for canoeing. Chepstow Castle is fifteen minutes by car. Monmouth and Tintern Abbey are within a half hour drive. For a longer day out, you can get to the Brecon Beacons or Cardiff in under an hour.
