The Lodge is one of three places here on the farm in Lydney. It's detached and single-storey, so everything's on the ground floor. That's handy.
It sleeps six. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is a wet room with grab rails. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, comfy, and warm. The kitchen is new.
You get a private, enclosed garden to yourselves. It's paved, with a built-in barbecue and a table. It gets the sun in the evening.
There's parking right outside. The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for dogs. We allow up to two.
You're on a working farm. We've got sheep and some cattle. If you're interested, you can usually arrange a quick tour to see the animals. Just ask.
The local pub is about a ten-minute walk down the lane. They do food. The nearest shop is about a mile away in Lydney.
You're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. You can walk or cycle straight into it from the gate. For cycling routes or walking trails, the Forest of Dean District Council site has good maps. Forestry England manages a lot of it too.
Within half an hour, you can drive to Puzzlewood, which is a strange, mossy ancient woodland. Good for a wander. Symonds Yat is popular for the river views. The city of Gloucester is about 25 minutes away for the cathedral and shops.
Facilities are listed, but the main ones: beds are made up for you, towels are included, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
