The Lodge
The Lodge is in Lydney, on our working farm. It's a detached, single-storey cottage by itself in the grounds. You get your own bit of garden that's enclosed. It looks out over the farmyard and the fields.
It sleeps six. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and everything's on one level which is handy. The floors aren't all perfectly level, it's an old building.
It's a working farm with sheep and cattle. You're welcome to have a look around if we're about. We can sometimes arrange a proper tour.
There's a wood burner for cooler nights. The kitchen is well set up if you're cooking. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
The local shop and pub are under a mile away. The pub does food.
You're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. For walking or cycling, you can be on the trails in a few minutes. Symonds Yat is about a 15 minute drive. The Forest of Dean website has good maps. For a day out, Gloucester and its cathedral are about half an hour away. Chepstow with the castle is a similar drive.
