Cider Press Barn is on our farm just outside Lydney. It's one of three places here, but it's separate with its own front door. The garden is private and enclosed, which is good if you have kids or a dog. We don't take pets here though, sorry.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one is an ensuite. Everything's on one floor, so no stairs to worry about. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The main room is open plan. There's a wood burner for the winter, and the doors open out to the courtyard. That bit gets the sun in the evening. There's a built-in barbecue out there.
You're on a working farm. We've got sheep and cattle. If you're interested, just ask and we can show you around. Sometimes the tractors are going early, but it's generally quiet.
The Forest of Dean starts practically at the end of the lane. You can walk or cycle straight into it. There are loads of routes. Forest of Dean has maps and ideas. For a proper day out, Puzzlewood is about 15 minutes away, or you can be at Symonds Yat in 20 minutes.
Lydney has a shop and a couple of pubs, about a mile. For a bigger shop, it's about ten minutes to Coleford. Gloucester is half an hour by car if you need a city or the cathedral.
In the barn you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot and highchair in for you.
If you're looking for information on the area, Visit Forest of Dean is good, and the National Trust looks after a few local sites.
