Cider Press Barn is on our farm in Lydney. It's a converted barn on one level, so no stairs. You've got your own private bit out the back, a courtyard with a wall around it. It gets the sun in the evening. There's a built-in barbecue there.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms: two doubles and one single. One of the doubles has its own shower room, and there's another bathroom as well. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not posh. There's a wood burner for the colder months.
You're on a working farm. We've got livestock. If you're interested, especially if kids are staying, we're happy to show you around. Just ask.
The local shop and the pub are about a fifteen minute walk. The pub does food. For a bigger shop, you'd drive into Lydney.
You're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. It's good for walking and cycling straight from the door. For canoeing, you can go to Symonds Yat, which is about a twenty minute drive. Gloucester is half an hour away if you want a cathedral or the docks.
What's here: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. We can provide a cot and a highchair. Sorry, no pets.
Useful links for planning: Forest of Dean District Council has visitor information, and the National Trust looks after a lot of the local woodland and riverside.
