Appletree Barn
Appletree Barn is near Ayleford, in Gloucestershire. It's on our smallholding. It's detached, just for the two of you, with your own patio and garden.
It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished. Everything's on the ground floor. The wet room has a walk-in shower. The underfloor heating works well.
The main room has patio doors that open onto a large, enclosed patio. The view from there is good. On a clear day you can see over to Gloucester cathedral. You can hear the sheep sometimes. It's quiet otherwise.
You can walk straight from the garden into the Forest of Dean. There's a boot room to leave muddy things. We've got bike storage and an outside tap to clean them off.
For things to do, the Forest is right there. The Wye Valley is nearby. Puzzlewood and the Dean Heritage Centre are about a fifteen minute drive. Tintern Abbey is maybe twenty minutes. Go Ape and the sculpture trail are in the forest itself.
Facilities: it's got a wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, smart TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the barn. No pets, sorry.
If you're planning walks or days out, the Forest of Dean site has maps and information. The National Trust looks after some of the places nearby too.
