The Chaff House

The Chaff House is one of a group of converted barns on our dairy farm in Arlingham. It's a working farm, so you'll see cows and tractors. The barns are set back from the road, past the farmyard.

It sleeps five people. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. It's open plan downstairs. There's a wood burning stove. We include the logs.

You're welcome to bring one dog. There's bicycle storage if you need it. Parking is right outside.

The village pub is about a quarter of a mile away, down a woodland path. They do food. There's another good pub a bit further on, known for seafood. The nearest shop is in Frampton-on-Severn, which is a short drive.

The farm has two miles of river frontage on the Severn. There are nice walks from the door along the riverbank, or you can follow the public footpaths into the fields. It's very flat here, good for cycling. You can arrange clay pigeon shooting on the farm at weekends if you book in advance.

Frampton-on-Severn is worth a visit. It has a long village green, a couple of pubs, and a café. The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal is there for walks.

Within about half an hour you can get to a lot. Slimbridge Wetland Centre is close. So is Berkeley Castle. You can be in the Forest of Dean, or the edge of the Cotswolds, or into Gloucester quite quickly. Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath are all within an hour's drive if you want a day out.
