Pipistrelle
This place is called Pipistrelle. It's a converted barn in Bream in the Forest of Dean. It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. You can bring two dogs.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's been done up to a good standard. They finished the renovation a few years ago. The main living area is open plan with wooden beams and a wood burner. The kitchen doors open straight out onto the patio. There's a double bedroom on the ground floor and the twin beds are upstairs.
The stairs are quite steep and narrow, which is pretty typical for these old barns.
You've got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside and an electric vehicle charger. There's also a cot and highchair if you need them.
Bream itself is quiet. The nearest shop and café are about a mile away. You're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean, so you can walk or cycle straight from the door. The cycle tracks here are very good, from family routes to proper mountain biking.
Within a half hour drive you've got Puzzlewood, which is famous for its strange ancient trees, and Clearwell Caves. The Forestry England site at Beechenhurst is close by. For steam trains, there's Norchard. For history, Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle aren't far. The market towns are Coleford, Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye.
The Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is just to the west. There's a local golf course and you can go horse riding nearby too.
