The Old School Penallt
The Old School Penallt is in Penallt, a village in the Wye Valley. It's a detached stone building, obviously an old schoolhouse. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. One bedroom is on the ground floor. It has doors out to the garden, which is fully enclosed. Good if you're bringing dogs. There's a children's play area just behind the garden, which is handy.
Inside, it's one big room for the kitchen, dining and sitting area. There are beams and a wood burner. There's also a separate snug room with a TV off to the side.
The local pub and restaurant is about a five minute walk. It serves food. Monmouth is about five miles away for shops and supermarkets.
You're right in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For walks, the Forest of Dean is about twelve miles. Symonds Yat is the same sort of distance, good for seeing the peregrine falcons. Offa's Dyke Path is nearby too.
Facilities: parking for two cars on the drive. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Highchair and stairgate if needed. You can bring up to two dogs. It's got a 4 Star rating.
