The Old School is in Penallt, a village in the Wye Valley. It's a detached house, an old Victorian schoolhouse that's been done up. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs. There's a little playground just behind the garden fence that belongs to the village.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom. One bedroom is on the ground floor, which is handy. That one has doors straight out to the garden.
The main room is open plan, kitchen and living area together. It has beams and a wood burner. There's also a separate snug room with a TV, which is useful if people want to do different things.
The village pub, the Carpenter's Arms, is about a five minute walk. They do food. The nearest shop is in Redbrook, about two miles away.
Monmouth is a ten minute drive. That's where you'll find the bigger supermarkets, plenty of shops and places to eat. The castle and the Monnow Bridge are there if you like history.
You're right in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Symonds Yat is about twenty minutes by car, good for walking and watching the river. The Forest of Dean is about the same distance. Offa's Dyke Path isn't far if you want a long walk.
Facilities: it has the things you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Parking for two cars on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
