The Lodge
The Lodge is on the edge of Wonastow. It's a short drive, or a decent walk, into Monmouth.
It's a detached stone cottage. We finished the renovation in 2022. It's got two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That's handy. It sleeps four. There's a sofa bed in the living room if you need it.
The main bedroom has a kingsize bed. The second bedroom has a smaller double bed, it's fine for two but it is compact. The bathrooms have showers.
You come into a boot room with a washer and dryer. The living space is open plan with a wood burner and a Smart TV. The kitchen has an induction hob. All the plates and pans are there.
There are three steps down from the living area to the bedrooms. The walls are thick stone and some are curved, which is interesting. The windows are deep because of it.
The garden is big, lawned, and fully enclosed. There's a deck with furniture on one side and a small patio at the front. The view from the garden is over fields. You can park three cars.
Monmouth is two miles away. It's a nice town with the usual shops, cafes and a few pubs. The castle and the Monnow Bridge are worth a look.
For walking, the Kymin is close by. The Brecon Beacons are about 45 minutes by car. The Forest of Dean is a similar distance. Abergavenny is about 20 minutes away, good for the food festival and walks up the Skirrid.
It has all the utilities, WiFi, a dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. No pets.
