The Lodge is in Wonastow, which is about two miles outside Monmouth. It's a detached, single-storey cottage. You're down a quiet country lane. The garden is big and fully enclosed, with views across the fields.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both have their own bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, which means it was done up to a high standard in 2022. It's a listed building, so the walls are a bit wobbly in places. The steps from the living room up to the bedrooms are quite steep. Something to be aware of.
Inside it's all open plan. There's a wood burner. The kitchen has an induction hob. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Parking for three cars.
Monmouth is a ten minute drive. It's got the usual shops, supermarkets, and a few pubs and cafés. The Monnow Bridge is worth a look. You can find more about local history at Monmouth Castle Museum.
For walking, the National Trust Kymin is close by. Good views from up there. The Forest of Dean is about twenty minutes away. The Brecon Beacons are further, maybe forty-five minutes by car. Abergavenny is twenty minutes drive and has good access to the Black Mountains.
Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi. No pets, I'm afraid.
