Thornhill is in Little Doward, above the River Wye. It's a detached cottage, but we live next door. You might see us about, but you have your own space. The view is the main thing. It looks out over Herefordshire countryside towards the Malvern Hills and the Forest of Dean.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well equipped. The living space is open plan, with a woodburning stove. There's underfloor heating downstairs.
The garden is yours, with a patio and a BBQ. There's parking right there. You can store bikes.
For walking, you don't need to drive. There are Woodland Trust walks right from the doorstep. You might see deer, or badgers. Wild boar are in the forest but they keep to themselves.
The nearest pub and restaurant are about a mile and a half. A shop is a mile away.
Monmouth is about ten minutes by car. Ross-on-Wye is maybe twenty. Both have golf, river cruises, and the usual town things. Goodrich Castle is very close, it's a proper ruin on a hill. Tintern Abbey is about half an hour's drive, over the border in Wales. Raglan Castle is in that direction too.
If you want a bigger town, Hereford or Gloucester are within half an hour. The Forest of Dean is on your doorstep for cycling or walking.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, cot, highchair, stairgate. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
