The Manor House

The Manor House is near Awre, in Gloucestershire. It's a big, detached Grade II listed building with its own grounds.

It sleeps eighteen people. Ten bedrooms, eight bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. The stairs in an old house like this are what you'd expect: some are steep, some are narrow, some spiral. It's just how it is.

The place is on seven acres, so there's a lot of space. There's a private heated outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub. Outside, there's also a barbecue and an external kitchen area for cooking. Inside, there are two large lounges, one with a fireplace, and a bar. The main kitchen is very well fitted.

You can walk down to the River Severn in about ten or fifteen minutes. The Forest of Dean is right there for walking, cycling, or mountain biking. You can find activities like Go Ape or horse riding locally. For a different day out, Gloucester, with its cathedral, is about half an hour's drive. Chepstow and its castle is roughly the same.

In terms of what's here: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and plenty of parking on site. You can bring up to three dogs. They offer a fine dining service through their own events company if you want to book a chef for a special meal.
