The Coach House

The Coach House is on our farm, just outside Lydney. It's a converted stone building. You're on the edge of the Forest of Dean.

It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom is downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and modern inside, but you'll know you're on a farm. You'll see the sheep in the fields. It's a working farm, so there's tractor noise sometimes during the day. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs or kids.

The nearest pub or restaurant is about three miles away in Lydney. You'll need to drive or be ready for a long walk. The farm itself is quiet at night.

You're right on the edge of the Forest of Dean. You can walk or cycle straight into the woods from the gate. There are miles of trails. For canoeing on the Wye, Symonds Yat is about a 20-minute drive. Tintern Abbey is over the bridge in Wales, maybe 15 minutes by car.

If you want a bigger town, Gloucester is about half an hour's drive. Chepstow and its castle are about 20 minutes away over the old bridge. The Severn Bore is a local thing, where a big wave comes up the river. You can check times online if you want to see it.

Facilities wise: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. We've got a highchair and a stairgate if you need them.

Useful links if you're planning: Forest of Dean District Council for local info, and National Trust places nearby.
