Oaktree Lodge is in Clements End. It's a one bedroom bungalow, sleeps two. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about right. It's modern and comfortable, quiet.
It's all on the ground floor. The main room is open plan, living area and kitchen together. There are doors out to your own balcony, which looks into the trees. It's a nice spot to sit out. You get a small private garden at the back as well.
The bedroom is a good size with a double bed. The bathroom has a shower cubicle.
There's a pub within walking distance. For anything else, you'll need to drive. The Forest of Dean is right there. You can walk straight out into it. The paths are good for walking or cycling. You can hire bikes in the forest.
Symonds Yat is about a twenty minute drive. It's a famous viewpoint over the River Wye. Good for a walk and a photo. Puzzlewood, which is that ancient forest place you see on TV sometimes, is about fifteen minutes away. For history, the Dean Heritage Centre covers the local area well. Clearwell Caves are nearby if you want to go underground.
If you drive for half an hour you can get to Monmouth or over into Wales. Chepstow and its castle are about thirty five minutes.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. No pets allowed.
For planning days out, the official Forest of Dean site is useful.
