Delcroft

Delcroft is a detached house in Drybrook, Gloucestershire. It's in a residential area on the edge of the village, but the back garden is big and looks out over fields and trees.

It sleeps a lot of people - nine. There are five bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom is downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's a family house, not a hotel.

The layout is good for groups. There are two living rooms, so people can split up. The conservatory is a nice bright spot. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine.

The garden is fully enclosed, so it's safe for dogs. We accept up to two. The garden is large, with a patio area and a BBQ.

Drybrook itself is quiet. There's a shop and a couple of pubs within walking distance. The main reason to be here is the Forest of Dean, which is basically on the doorstep.

For walking and cycling, you can get straight into the woods from here. Symonds Yat Rock is about a 20-minute drive for the views. Puzzlewood, which is that twisted, mossy forest you see on TV sometimes, is about 25 minutes away. The Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail is well worth a visit. Canoeing on the Wye is easy to organise locally.

Further afield, within about half an hour, you've got Clearwell Caves to explore, and the market town of Monmouth. Gloucester and its cathedral are about a 40-minute drive.

In terms of what's here: all bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. Parking is on the driveway. There's a woodburner for colder nights, and WiFi, though it's a rural connection.

Useful links for planning: the Forest of Dean Council site has visitor information, and Forestry England manages the forest trails.
