Swallow Barn
Swallow Barn is in Ainthorpe, right on the edge of the North York Moors. It's a barn conversion we finished in 2023. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The living area has a high ceiling with the original stonework. There's a wood burner, which is good for cooler evenings. The kitchen is open plan with a decent dining table. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a twin and a king, and a family bathroom. There's also a double bedroom on the ground floor with its own shower.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden and patio. You get a hot tub. The view is over fields. There are sometimes sheep in the next field. We have a couple of free-range hens that might wander over.
The place is off a quiet lane. There's on-site parking and an electric vehicle charger. Everything like bedding, towels, and electricity is included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs.
Ainthorpe itself is tiny. There's a local pub a short walk away. For a shop, you'd drive to Danby or Castleton.
You're properly in the North York Moors here. Good walking from the door. The coast at places like Staithes or Runswick Bay is about a 30-minute drive. Whitby is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. Useful links if you're planning: North York Moors National Park and National Trust Yorkshire.
