Fern Cottage is in Lealholm, right in the middle of the North York Moors. It's a semi-detached place, built in 1755.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is spacious, but the stairs are worth mentioning: they're original cottage stairs, so they're steep and narrow in places.
You've got an enclosed garden. There's a storage room off the dining area that's good for storing a few clean bikes if you're cycling, which a lot of people do round here. There's a wood burner in the kitchen, which heats the room and the dining area next to it.
The village has what you need. A shop about forty yards away. A pub and a restaurant about two hundred yards. There's a train station, a couple of cafes, and stepping stones over the River Esk.
For the coast, Staithes, Runswick Bay, and Robin Hood's Bay are a short drive. Whitby is about nine miles. The North York Moors National Park website has walking and cycling routes if you're planning ahead.
Facilities: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
