Tawny Owl Hut
Tawny Owl Hut is one of our shepherd's huts at Hollins Farm in Westerdale. It's a single hut on its own, so it's private. You're right in the North York Moors.
It sleeps two. One room with a king-size bed and a small kitchen area. There's a wood burner for heat and a shower room attached. We've also got a larger shower in a barn nearby if you want more space. It's got a 4 Star rating. The bed is up against one wall, so you have to climb in from the end. It's a hut, so space is compact. You get used to it.
Outside there's a patio with a table, chairs, and a gas barbecue. There's a fire pit too. It's a dark sky area, so on a clear night you can see a lot of stars.
You're on a farm. You'll see sheep. The Coast to Coast path is about a ten minute walk from the gate. For a proper walk on the moors, you can start from here.
By car, you can get to a lot of the coast in under half an hour. Whitby is about 25 minutes. Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are similar. They're all fishing villages with the usual shops and pubs.
For facilities, it has WiFi, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking right next to the hut. No pets, I'm afraid. We can do laundry if you need it, just ask.
