Coed Mawr is in Betws y Coed in Snowdonia. It's a double-fronted cottage, detached, with its own garden. It's had a renovation, so the kitchen and bathrooms are modern, but it still feels like a cottage.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's parking and you can charge an electric car.
The cottage sits in about 15 acres. There are public footpaths running by it, so you can walk straight from the door. The garden has a wood-fired hot tub. It's a good spot to sit and look at the view.
You're a short walk from Betws y Coed village centre. There are pubs, places to eat, and small shops there.
For walking, you're right in it. The Snowdonia National Park site has maps and routes. The Pen y Pass start for Snowdon is about ten miles away. The Llanberis path is a bit further.
Swallow Falls is three miles up the road. For cycling, the Marin trails at Gwydir Forest are very close. There's also tree-top climbing and a forest coaster nearby.
The lakes Llyn Elsi and Llyn Geirionydd are not far. You can use kayaks and paddle boards there. For something bigger, Zip World and Bounce Below at Llechwedd are about a twenty minute drive.
Conwy is under half an hour's drive. It's a walled town with a castle, a Cadw site, and claims to have the smallest house in Britain.
Inside, there's a wood burner, TV, WiFi, a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
