This is Cartref. It's a former vicarage in Pont Cyfyng, near Betws-y-Coed. It's a big, detached house, not far from the A5 road. It sleeps eight, has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it's good for a group.

The place has a 4 Star rating. It's been done up but kept a lot of the old features, like the wood burner. There's an unusual bed, a highgate bed from the Victorian time. The stairs inside are a bit steep and narrow in places, just to be aware.

Out the back there's a garden that looks up towards the mountains. You can park on site.

For facilities, you've got the basics: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. We accept up to two dogs as well.

The pub is about a five minute walk. There's a shop a mile away in Betws-y-Coed.

You're right in walking country here. The Llanberis Path up Snowdon starts nearby, and the other routes like the Miners' Track aren't far. The village of Capel Curig is just up the road for more outdoors stuff. Betws-y-Coed has cafes, pubs, and the little steam railway.

Within about half an hour you can drive to a few places. Conwy for the castle and the town walls. Beddgelert is good for a walk. Bodnant Garden is a beautiful spot. Llangollen has the canal and the Eisteddfod in the summer. For a longer day out, you can get to the coast or Portmeirion in under an hour.

If you're looking for information on the area, Visit Wales and Snowdonia National Park have good guides.
