Sgubor Ucha

This is Sgubor Ucha. It's a converted barn up near Llanrhychwyn, which is a small hamlet near Betws-y-Coed. The lanes getting up here are pretty narrow and winding, but you're up high and the views are good. It's completely detached, so no neighbours on the other side of a wall.

It sleeps six people across three bedrooms and has two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is in good order and it's well equipped. Because it's a barn conversion, the ceilings are high inside and the rooms feel spacious.

You’re about a mile and a half from the nearest shop and pub. The pub does food. Betws-y-Coed is about four miles down the road for more shops and cafes.

You’re right on the edge of Gwydyr Forest Park here, so walking and mountain biking start from the door. Llyn Geirionnydd lake is a walk away through the trees. The old church in the village, St Rhychwyn, is said to be the oldest in Wales.

For days out, Conwy with its castle and town walls is under half an hour’s drive. Llandudno is about the same, if you fancy the beach or the pier. Zip World Fforest, with the treetop nets, is very close for something different. Surf Snowdonia, the artificial wave lagoon, is in the Conwy Valley too.

In terms of what's here: there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, a dishwasher and washing machine, parking right outside, and a place to store bikes. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Sorry, no pets.
