The Farmhouse At Gelli Newydd
The Farmhouse at Gelli Newydd is in Trefriw. It's detached, up on the hill. You get good views down the Conwy Valley from the main living room.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 5 Star property, so it's well finished and has things like underfloor heating from a ground source heat pump. It's warm. The kitchen is big and open plan with a breakfast bar and a sofa area.
There's an enclosed garden at the back, which is useful with dogs. You can take up to three. Outside, there's a sheltered seating area with a barbecue and a wood-fired hot tub.
In the village, which is a short walk downhill, there's a shop at the post office, a good butcher, a couple of pubs, a cafe and the Trefriw Woollen Mill. The mill is worth a look.
For walks, you can start right from the door. If you go up the hill behind the house you can get to Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant. Both are nice lakes. Geirionydd has some watersports, Crafnant is quieter. The Trefriw Trails project has waymarked routes for walking and cycling from the village.
For bigger days out, Surf Snowdonia and the Zip World sites are within about a 30 minute drive. You need to book those in advance. Betws-y-Coed is ten minutes away by car. The National Trust has a few places nearby, like Bodnant Garden. The coast at Conwy and Llandudno is about a 20 minute drive.
Facilities include a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi, and on-site parking. There's an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them.
This farmhouse can be booked together with the Barn and the Bothy next door if you're a larger group.
