This is Glanllyn, in Betws y Coed. It's a detached cottage, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The main thing is it's quiet. The road isn't busy and you get your own enclosed garden at the back. It looks out over the river.
Betws y Coed is busy but in a good way. Plenty of places to eat, a couple of pubs, and shops for outdoor gear. You can walk straight from the door along the rivers and through the forestry. Llyn Elsi is a nice walk up the hill from the village.
The golf club is literally next door. If you're into mountain biking, the Marin trails are nearby. There's bike hire in the village. Llyn Geirionydd, up past the trails, is a good spot for a swim or to use paddle boards. There's parking and toilets there.
Within about half an hour you've got a few options. Tree Top Adventures is just down the road for zip lines and that sort of thing. Llechwedd Slate Caverns is the other way, with mine tours and activities. Surf Snowdonia is towards the coast. Conwy is a bit further, about twenty-five minutes, for the castle and the harbour.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, wifi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
