Nant Y Crogwyn is our family's old place near Penmachno. It's detached, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall. The views are all fields and hills.
It sleeps eight across four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which is about right. It's comfortable and clean, but it's an old cottage. The ceilings are low in some rooms. The kitchen has what you need. The wood burner in the living room works well.
There's a conservatory on the back. It's a good spot to sit and look out, even when it's raining.
The garden is partly enclosed with a patio and some furniture. There's a field next to it where horses sometimes graze. A gate at the side leads down to a small stream. It's not always accessible, as it depends on the livestock. Please shut the gate.
You're about a ten minute drive from a village shop and a local pub. Betws-y-Coed is about fifteen minutes by car for more shops and places to eat.
If you like walking, you can start right from the door. The Penmachno mountain bike trails are very close. The bigger Marin trails in Gwydir Forest are about a twenty minute drive. For a day out, Snowdonia National Trust properties like Bodnant Garden are within half an hour. The coast at Llandudno is about forty minutes.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. The entrance is accessible for a wheelchair. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
