Benar Cottages - Benar Bach

Benar Bach is one of two cottages here. It's the smaller one, sleeps two. It's an old stone annexe to the main farmhouse, which is Grade II listed, so it's got character. It's down its own track, so it's quiet. You get a terrace and a bit of lawn right by a stream. You'll hear it from the garden.

It's a single bedroom cottage. The bed's upstairs. The stairs are the original, so they're steep and a bit narrow. Something to be aware of. The bathroom is downstairs.

You're in the Machno valley. The village of Penmachno is about a mile away. It's got a pub that does food and a small shop. For more shops and places to eat, Betws-y-Coed is three miles down the road.

You can walk straight out from the door into Gwydyr Forest. If you're into mountain biking, the Penmachno trail network starts right from the property gate. The Gwydyr Forest page has good maps and information.

You're well placed for the area. Snowdon, or Yr Wyddfa, is about 25 minutes by car if you want to go up. There are several castles nearby, like Conwy and Caernarfon, which are about half an hour's drive. The coast at Llandudno is about 40 minutes.

For facilities, it's got what you'd expect for the rating. Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. There's an electric vehicle charger on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. The garden is enclosed. No pets.

Useful links: Snowdonia National Park and Cadw for the castles.
