Meredith Cottage is in Dolwyddelan. It’s a stone, semi-detached place, built in the 19th century, on the edge of the village. You’re right in the middle of Snowdonia here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean but not overly fancy. You get a small garden and parking on site. There’s a washing machine, cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. WiFi and TV are there. We take up to two dogs.
The village shop and a pub are about 150 yards away. There’s a restaurant a bit further on. The train station is 700 yards, which is handy.
The main thing is the location. You can walk straight out into the mountains. The valley is right there. Blaenau Ffestiniog is about five miles away. That’s where the adventure stuff is, like Bounce Below and ZipWorld. The Ffestiniog Railway starts there too, which goes to Porthmadog.
Betws-y-Coed is a short drive for more shops and places to eat. You’ve got Swallow Falls and Conwy Falls nearby. Surf Snowdonia, the inland surf place, is about 15 miles away. Llandudno is on the coast if you want a proper seaside day. Lake Bala isn’t far either.
For planning, these are useful: Snowdonia National Park, National Trust Wales, and Visit Wales.
