Ty Newydd is on the B5106 road between Betws y Coed and Conwy. It's a detached stone cottage from the 1600s. It's not in the village centre, which is good for peace and quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. The stairs are original, so they're steep and a bit winding. We've put a stairgate at the top.
The garden is enclosed and secure. Useful if you're bringing dogs, we take up to two. There's an electric vehicle charger on the drive.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs with a woodburning stove. We supply the wood. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We keep it to a 4 Star standard, which means it's comfortable and well equipped.
You're right on the edge of Gwydyr Forest. You can walk straight out of the gate onto the trails. It's about a fifteen minute walk along the forestry track into Betws y Coed itself. The village has a shop, a few pubs that do food, and an indoor swimming pool.
For days out, Conwy Castle and the harbour are about a fifteen minute drive. Llandudno and the Great Orme are a bit further. Bodnant Garden is spectacular, especially in spring.
If you want activities, Zip World Fforest is just outside Betws y Coed. Surf Snowdonia and Bounce Below are within twenty minutes. The Snowdonia National Park site is good for planning walks. You can catch the Conwy Valley train from Betws y Coed up to Blaenau Ffestiniog and connect to the Ffestiniog Railway.
