Bryn Amlwg

This is Bryn Amlwg, near Llanrwst in Conwy. It's a detached stone cottage, so no one attached. It's all on one level, which is handy. It's Grade II listed, so it's old. The ceilings are low in some doorways, just watch your head.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with bunk beds. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. The rating is 3 Star. It's clean and it works, but it's not a show home.

You're right by the river. It's a few steps out the door and you're on the bank. Good for a stroll or sitting out. There's a National Trust tea room right there called Ty Hwnt I'r Bont.

Betws-y-Coed is about five minutes in the car. That's where you go for cafes and the outdoor shops. The Marin mountain bike trails are nearby if that's your thing. For water, Lake Geirionydd is close for kayaking or paddle boarding.

Conwy town and its castle are maybe twenty minutes drive. Nice for a day out. The coast and beaches are about half an hour away.

Facilities: there's a TV, WiFi, and bedding is included. The heating and electricity are in the price. There's no bath, just the shower. There's no parking right at the door, you park on the lane about twenty yards away. No pets, I'm afraid.

For planning, the Visit Wales site is useful, and National Trust Snowdonia has good information on the area.
