Cwt Celyn

Cwt Celyn is up a track near Pandy Tudur, just outside Conwy. It's a one-bedroom cabin for two people. It has a five-star rating but it's more comfortable than grand. It's small and simple.

The main thing is the view. You look out over fields towards Snowdonia. The sunsets are very good. There's a hot tub on the deck.

The garden is private and full of wildflowers. You'll see buzzards and red kites. There are sheep and horses in the fields opposite.

Inside, it's all open plan. The stairs to the sleeping platform are a ladder. That's fine for most, but maybe not if you're unsteady on your feet. Everything is included, towels and bedding too. There's parking right outside.

For a pub, there's one down the road in Llangernyw. They do food and a Sunday roast. Betws y Coed is about a twenty-minute drive. It's a proper village with cafes and shops and that alpine feel from the forest.

You're well placed for the big attractions. Zip World and Surf Snowdonia are about half an hour away. The coast around Conwy and Anglesey is within an hour's drive.

Mostly though, it's for walking. You're on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. For planning walks, the National Trust Snowdonia site is useful. Llyn Brenig and Llyn Crafnant are both close by for easier lake walks.

It's quiet and secluded. Good for switching off. You can also book it with the cabin next door if you're a group of four.
