This is Dol Y Mynydd, our place near Pandy Tudur in Conwy. It's a cabin for two, just the one bedroom and bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which is nice, but I'd say it's more about it being really well-kept and comfortable than being posh.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the fields towards Snowdon. You get your own bit of garden, which we let grow with wildflowers.
It's quiet. You'll see red kites about, and there are farm animals in the neighbouring fields. The lane is good for a walk straight from the door.
In the village of Llangernyw, about ten minutes down the road, there's a local pub. They've got log fires and do good food, including a roast on a Sunday. They do takeaway pizzas too.
Betws-y-Coed is about a twenty minute drive. That's where you'll find most of the cafes and shops. It's a proper tourist spot, with the Gwydir Forest around it. From there, you're right on the edge of Snowdonia National Park for walking. Things like Zip World or the forest coaster are within half an hour.
The north coast isn't far. You can get to the beaches around Conwy or over to Anglesey in under an hour by car.
Facilities-wise, everything's included. There's parking right there, bedding and towels are provided, and you've got a shower and a patio with a barbecue. No pets, I'm afraid. It's attached to another cabin called Cwt Celyn, so you could book both together if there were four of you.
If you're planning walks or days out, the Visit Wales North Wales site is useful, and the National Trust has places like Conwy Castle nearby.
