Riverside Cottage

Right, this is Riverside Cottage. It's part of Rosecraddoc Manor over in Rosecraddoc, just outside Liskeard. The main thing is you're on the edge of the estate grounds here, by a lake. There's a large, fenced garden that's just for you.

It sleeps ten. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up nicely, but it's still a cottage, not a show home. The stairs are a bit steep in places, like you'd expect.

The grounds are about 38 acres. You can walk around the lake. There's fishing if you've got a rod license. There's also an all-weather tennis court anyone on the estate can book. It's quite peaceful.

Inside, you've got everything on the list. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included, which saves you packing them. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

For a pint or a meal, the nearest decent pub is about a mile and a half's walk or a short drive. Liskeard is two and a half miles. They've got a big leisure centre there with indoor pools.

You're a few minutes' drive from the edge of Bodmin Moor if you want proper walking. Siblyback Lake is up there for watersports. The south coast, with beaches like Looe and Polperro, is about a twenty minute drive. The Eden Project is about half an hour away.

A couple of things: mobile signal can be a bit patchy in the valley, but the WiFi is usually alright. Also, the property listing says no pets, so that's that.

For planning trips, the National Trust Cornwall page is useful, and the Bodmin Moor site has walking information.
