This place is called Provence. It's in Menheniot, Cornwall. It's a barn conversion from the 1820s. We're on a farm here, Tregrill Farm, where I live on-site. It's very quiet.
The cottage sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well looked after. It's got a woodburning stove and an enclosed garden.
You can walk straight out into the countryside from the door. The coast is about nine miles away. Looe and Polperro are the closest proper seaside places. If you don't want to drive, there's a train from Liskeard that goes to Looe. It's a nice ride.
You can get to a lot from here in half an hour. Plymouth is that way, with the aquarium and the Barbican. The Eden Project is about ten miles. The Cotehele estate is close by too. For surf, Whitsand Bay is about twelve miles.
There's a games room on the farm shared between the cottages. Facilities in the cottage include a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. It's family friendly, with things like a highchair and stairgate. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
The local shop and pub are half a mile down the lane. They're fine for basics and a pint.
For planning, the National Trust Cornwall site is useful, and so is South West Coast Path if you're walking.
