The Cowshed is a converted barn out near Rosecraddoc. It's in a 2-acre paddock, so you're in the middle of a field, which is nice and quiet.
It sleeps four. There are two proper sleeping areas. One is a separate bedroom with a kingsize bed and its own shower room. The other is a sleeping space in the main living area. That has two singles that can be joined into another kingsize. There's a privacy screen for it. It has its own shower room too, so everyone gets an ensuite.
The main room is tall and open-plan, with a sofa, TV, dining table and kitchen. There's a wood burner. You get your own patio doors that lead out to a deck. There's outdoor furniture, a gas barbecue, and a private hot tub. Further into the garden there's a fire pit.
A thing to know: you park at the top of the field. It's about a 60-metre walk across the grass to the cottage. We leave a luggage trolley to help. Bring wellies if it's been wet.
The night skies are very dark here, you can see the stars clearly.
It's a 4 Star place, so everything is in good order. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi works fine. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
For things to do: Looe and Polperro are about a 20-minute drive south for the coast. Liskeard is the nearest town for shops, about 10 minutes away. The train from Liskeard station goes along the Tamar Valley into Plymouth, which is a nice trip.
Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are both within half an hour if you want proper walking or dramatic scenery.
