Acorns is our place in Darleyford. It's on the edge of Bodmin Moor, up in the north east of Cornwall. It’s one end of our old granite barn that we converted.
The barn is upside-down, so you come in on the ground floor. That's where the bedroom and the bathroom are. The bathroom has a big Victorian roll-top bath and a separate shower. The main living area is upstairs. That leads out to a small, enclosed garden. It's all yours.
It’s just for two people. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. We can take up to three dogs.
The hamlet is quiet, just a handful of houses. There's a famous old oak tree, the Darley Oak, about a thousand years old, just down the lane. You're right on the edge of the moor here. The village of Minions, which is the highest in Cornwall, is about two miles away. You can walk up to the Cheesewring rock or see The Hurlers stone circles from there.
You’re in a good spot for Bodmin Moor walking. Both the north and south Cornish coasts are about a 30-minute drive. Dartmoor is reachable in under an hour. There are a few decent country pubs around, most with log fires.
For facilities, it's got the things you'd expect: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, parking right outside. There's an electric vehicle charger. We provide bedding and towels. A travel cot and highchair are here if you need them.
