Cider House

Cider House is in Hawkchurch. It's on a farm, but it's not a working farm anymore. The cottage itself is 15th century, so it's old. There are flagstone floors and beams. The stairs are steep, which is pretty standard for a place this age.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic. The garden is yours to use and it looks out over fields and woods. There's an adventure playground on the farm for kids.

You'll see wildlife around. Deer, badgers, foxes. Sheep in the next field. If you're into horse riding, you can arrange that next door for a fee.

The coast is close. Lyme Regis is under five miles away. Charmouth and West Bay are easy to get to. The Jurassic Coast is the main reason most people stay here. For walking, there are footpaths straight from the door.

Inside, it's got what you need: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site. There's even an electric vehicle charger now.

The village shop and pub are about a mile away. There's a country hotel with a restaurant half a mile down the road.

If you're looking for a day out, Exeter is about half an hour's drive. The National Trust has loads of places nearby. For local walks and information, the East Devon National Landscape site is useful.

If you've got a bigger group, you can book the cottage next door, Cider Cottage, as well. Together they sleep twelve.
