Cider House

Cider House is in Hawkchurch in Devon. It's a 15th century stone cottage. Three bedrooms, sleeps six, two bathrooms. They've given it a 4 Star rating.

The ceilings are low because of the beams, which is typical. The floors are flagstone and there's an inglenook fireplace. It feels old, but it's spacious inside.

You get the garden. It looks out over fields and woods. The place isn't a working farm, but there are sheep in the next field and you often see deer, badgers and owls. There's a kids' play area on site too.

The village shop and pub are about a mile away. There's a country hotel with a restaurant half a mile down the lane if you don't want to drive. Horse riding is at the next property, but you have to book and pay separately for that.

Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast are under a twenty minute drive. Charmouth and West Bay are about the same. For a bigger day out, Exeter is just over half an hour away.

In terms of stuff: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking. Bedding is included. We have a cot and highchair. There's also an electric vehicle charger. Sorry, no pets.

If you're planning trips, the Jurassic Coast Trust site is useful. For general walks and places, National Trust Devon has good information.
