The Bee Hive
The Bee Hive is in Street, Somerset. It's a single-storey lodge, so everything's on one level which is handy. The front entrance has electric gates into the shared grounds.
It's got one bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area, so it sleeps four. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. The bathroom is a walk-in wet room.
The main thing about it is the deck. It's a good size, overlooks the garden, and it's enclosed. You can sit out there with a drink. There's a separate, enclosed bit of garden at the back for dogs. We leave dog beds and a few treats.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. The living area has a TV and WiFi. Parking is right outside the lodge.
The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away. There's a pub a bit closer. For a bigger shop, you'd head to Glastonbury or Street itself.
It's a good spot for getting out. The coast at West Bay or Lyme Regis is about half an hour's drive. For gardens and history, National Trust Lyme is nearby, and Forde Abbey is two miles away. The Mendip Hills are right there for walking. If you're into golf, there's a course close by.
