The Old Cowshed
The Old Cowshed is in Whitney Bottom, which is just outside Ilminster. It's a barn conversion we did a few years back. It's detached, so no one on either side.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and they've both got their own bathroom. It’s a four-star place, so it's comfortable, not a second home. One thing to know is it's upside down. You come in on the ground floor into the bedrooms, then go upstairs for the living area and kitchen. It means the main room looks out over the garden and fields.
The garden is a good size and it's fully enclosed. There's a proper lawn and we also have a vegetable patch. You're welcome to take anything that's in season. It’s organic, but I'm not precious about it.
There's a shop and a pub about half a mile away. The pub does food. Ilminster is about five minutes by car.
For days out, you're well placed. Forde Abbey and Gardens is nearby. The Jurassic Coast is under half an hour's drive in the car. Lyme Regis, Charmouth, that whole area. If it's a wet day, the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton is a good shout.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking right outside. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair in the cupboard under the stairs if you need them. No pets, sorry.
