The Cow Shed
The Cow Shed is a converted barn on our place in Bishopswood. It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor, which is handy. The stairs inside are normal house stairs, not steep cottage ones.
The main living space is open plan, all on one level once you go down three steps from the hall. It's a big room. Through the glass doors, there's a large patio with different seating areas and a hot tub that fits six to eight people. Beyond the patio is a lawn and then a half-acre field you can use. The garden isn't fully enclosed, so you'd need to keep an eye on dogs or small children.
We're at the edge of the village, with fields and the Somerset Wildlife Trust land right next door. The local pub is about a five minute walk up the lane. It serves food.
For days out, Honiton is about a twenty minute drive east. Lyme Regis and the coast are roughly half an hour south. Taunton is north, maybe twenty-five minutes, if you need bigger shops or a cinema.
Within an hour's drive you can get to Exmoor, Glastonbury, or the Somerset Levels. Useful links for planning: Somerset Wildlife Trust for local walks and Exmoor National Park.
The place has a 5 Star rating. All bedding and towels are included. There's a woodburner, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a highchair and a stairgate if you need them.
