Holgates
Holgates is near Smeatharpe, on the Devon and Somerset border. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. You come in through the conservatory.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We refurbished it in 2024 so it's all fresh. There's underfloor heating and a woodburner-style electric fire in the living room.
The main bedroom has a super king bed. The second bedroom can be a king or two singles. We can put a cot in if you need one.
The garden is enclosed. There's a patio with furniture and a barbecue. The hot tub is out there too. You get a good view over the fields.
It's on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Good walking from the door. For a bigger day out, the Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis is about 40 minutes' drive. Honiton is close for shops.
Local places within about half an hour: the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton is interesting. Dunkeswell airfield is nearby if anyone's into flying. There are a couple of village pubs a short drive away.
What's here: all the bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Parking for a couple of cars. We allow one well-behaved dog. We've also got bike storage.
