Old Highwood - Piglet Cottage is in Dunkeswell, up in the Blackdown Hills. It's a converted barn, mid-terrace. We're next door, and there's a working cattle farm in the fields around us.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms upstairs: one king, one double, and one single. One bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are fine.
The main room is open plan, kitchen and living area together. The kitchen has a dishwasher. The garden out the back is private, gets the sun, and looks over the fields. There's a patio, a lawn, a barbecue, and a six-person hot tub.
You'll hear the owls at night and sometimes see deer. The sky is very dark up here, good for stargazing. We've left a telescope in the cupboard if you fancy it. We have chickens, so there are often fresh eggs if you'd like some.
Dunkeswell village is five minutes by car. It's got a grocery shop, a chippy, an Indian, and a bar. The airfield here does skydives if that's your thing. Honiton is about ten minutes away for bigger shops and a few more places to eat.
The coast is half an hour's drive. Beer and Branscombe are quiet. Sidmouth and Seaton are busier. Exmouth has a long sandy beach. For days out, there's The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth, or National Trust places along the coast.
Facilities: parking right outside, WiFi, TV, bedding and towels included. There's a cot and a highchair if needed. No pets, sorry.
