This is Hooked Rise. It's a detached timber lodge on our farm in Dunkeswell. We live in the farmhouse next door. It's all on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twins. There's one shower room. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and everything works, but it's not luxury. The main room feels quite spacious because of the high pine ceiling. There's a kitchen area, a table, and the electric fire for background heat.
You're on the edge of Dunkeswell airfield here. It's a working airfield for light aircraft, so you'll see and hear small planes sometimes. It's mostly during the day. Some people find it interesting to watch.
The lodge is on its own, with a bit of garden and parking right outside. You're welcome to bring one dog. There's a TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
The nearest shop is about two miles away. For a pub you're looking at five miles. There is a licensed restaurant about half a mile down the road.
Honiton is a short drive, maybe ten minutes. It's got antique shops and a market. Exeter is about half an hour away. The cathedral is worth seeing. For walks, the Blackdown Hills are right here. The coast at places like Sidmouth or Seaton is roughly a 30-minute drive.
