Lambs Cottage Hillmoor

Lambs Cottage is what we call it. It's a one-bedroom place on the farm here in Hillmoor. It's for two people. We got a 4 Star rating, which means it's pretty comfortable.

It's a barn conversion, all on one floor. You drive down a 500-yard track to get here. It's quiet. The track keeps you private.

Inside, it's one big living area. The bedroom has patio doors that go straight out the back onto the fields. There's a little sitting-out spot at the front, gets the sun.

You can bring one dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them, and the bedding and towels are included. It's got a dishwasher, a washing machine, wifi, and parking right outside.

The farm's in the Blackdown Hills. You can just walk straight out from here onto the footpaths. The roads are quiet for cycling. The nearest villages are Culmstock and Hemyock, both about two miles. Each has a pub that does food and a small shop.

For a bigger shop, Wellington and Honiton are about a fifteen-minute drive. Honiton's good for antiques. Taunton's not far either, about thirteen miles, if you want the theatre or the cricket.

If you drive for about forty minutes south, you get to the coast. The Jurassic Coast. Seaton, Beer, Lyme Regis. There's a tram at Seaton. It's a World Heritage Site.

Forty minutes the other way, west, gets you into Exmoor National Park for walking. There are a few National Trust places nearby too, like Knightshayes Court.
