The Coach House @ The Old Rectory

The Coach House is in Buckland St Mary, which is in the Blackdown Hills. It's a detached building that used to be the stables for the Rectory. We live in the main house next door.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. They're both upstairs. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a roll-top bath. The living area is up on a mezzanine level, which was originally the horse loose box. You can still see the old hay and water feeders built into the wall. It's a nice space, but the ceiling is a bit low up there because of how it was built.

Outside, you have your own patio with a table, chairs and a barbecue. It looks out over the garden and fields. Parking is right next to the cottage.

There's a pub about a mile down the road in the village. They do food. The nearest shop is about six miles away in Chard, so you'll want to bring supplies.

You're right in the Blackdown Hills, so it's good walking country straight from the door. For a day out, the Quantocks and Exmoor are within half an hour's drive. Exmoor National Park has all the route information. Taunton is about nine miles north. The coast, like Lyme Regis, is about a 40 minute drive.

The place has a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and WiFi. There's an electric vehicle charger on site. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
