Whitegate View is on the edge of the village of Forton, near Chard. It's a single-storey annexe attached to our house, but you have your own front door and it's completely separate. You get the patio and garden area to yourselves. The view from there is over the fields, which is nice.
It sleeps five. There are two bedrooms: a double and a single. There's also a sofa bed in the living room if you need it. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious. Everything is on one level, so no stairs.
The local pub is about three quarters of a mile down the lane. They do food. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away in Chard, so most people drive for supplies.
The location is good for exploring. You're right near the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Devon. The Jurassic Coast is about half an hour's drive. Lyme Regis and Charmouth are the closest bits. Inland, there's Forde Abbey and Montacute House if you like historic buildings. Glastonbury is about 40 minutes away. Street, with the Clarks Village outlet, is a bit closer.
It's a rural spot, so it's quiet and good for walking or cycling straight from the door.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
